What’s the dress code?
The ceremony and reception will have a semi-formal / dressy casual dress code. You'll be totally on the mark in slacks and a nice top, a sundress, cocktail dress, dressy separates, casual suit, sport coat, dress shirt with or without a tie, or any number of similar outfits. Basically, just avoid super casual clothes (athleisure, jeans, shorts, flip-flops) or any all-white ensembles and you'll be good!
Primarily, dress for the weather (whatever that may be)! Events will be outdoors or in indoor areas with doors and windows open. Check back closer to the day of the ceremony, too, since NC weather this time of year is totally unpredictable – it could be snowing or in the 80s. You may want to choose footwear that's suitable for different terrains and avoid sharp stilettos.
Finally, this is a gay, interracial and interfaith wedding – please feel free to fully express yourself here! We welcome guests to wear wedding attire that's appropriate from their own culture, and we don't expect your clothing choices to adhere to binary gender norms.
Is the venue accessible?
All our official events will be held on wheelchair-accessible paved areas, but you'll need to cross a gravel parking lot and walk across raised wooden walkways. If you want explore the whole venue, walk down by the lake or sit around the outdoor fire pit, you'll need to cross grassy areas, too.
What food will be served?
We’ll have dinner from Mediterranean Deli, with the following items:
Chicken Kebob - Marinated in plain yogurt, saffron, juice of onions, vegetable oil and spices (made without gluten, nut free, served hot)
Falafel with Tahibi Sauce - Ground chick peas combined with onions, parsley, and Mediterranean spices. Deep fried and served with tahini dressing (made without gluten, dairy free, nut free, vegan, vegetarian, served hot)
Greek Salad - Crisp romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, red onion, kalamata olives, feta cheese, radish, pepperocini, with Greek dressing (made without gluten, nut free, vegan with feta on the side, served cold)
Sundried Tomato Penne Pasta - served with sundried tomatoes and ground walnuts balsamic vinaigrette (vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, served cold)
Mango Pineapple Salad - Pineapples, mango, black pepper, scallion, cranberries, carrots, and cilantro
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus - A blend of chickpeas, tahini, citric acid, with roasted red pepper (made without gluten, dairy free, nut free, vegan, served cold)
Tzatziki Sauce - Sour cream with cucumber, mint, dill and garlic (made without gluten, nut free, served cold)
Fresh Baked Pita Bread - Made using certified organic, local flour. It is a fully Kosher pita (nut free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan)
Gluten Free Baguettes - Sliced baguette made with gluten free flour
Dessert will be an assortment of cupcakes from Buzzy Bakes Bakeshop, including some gluten-free options. Please reach out if you have questions or dietary restrictions that aren’t accommodated here.
